Third-year B.Sc. Nursing students of IET College of Nursing, under the guidance of the Community Health Nursing Department, successfully organized a comprehensive rural medical camp and public health awareness drive in Oorakam, Panakkad.
The initiative focused on early screening for hypertension, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies among rural residents. Free health checkups, blood sugar monitoring, body mass index (BMI) assessments, and health counseling sessions were provided to over 450 community members. In addition, interactive street plays and visual charts were presented to raise awareness about preventive sanitation, maternal health, and lifestyle disease management.
